My 3 Hypothesis

Isacc Newton:

Isacc Newton was enthused byt he light spectrum and how white light can be transformed into other colours by passing it through various shapes, materials and spaces.

Maria Agnesi:

Maria Agnesi was talented in exploring different geometries, she was inspired to do this through her passion of mathematics.

Sigmund Freud:

Freud was an Austrian neurologist, enthused by the different ways in which the brain could/can shape ideas.

1. This image is of my model in its entirety, yet without the surrounding parklands. This image displays all improved aspects of my model since my last upload, this image displays how i have introduced the "sharp" texture to the pointed roof of the design and also the "organic" material to the lower/underground walls of the structure. This image also displays the improvements i have made to the back set of interior stairs, i have scaled the stairs to good measure and separated the design into two materials providing the natural element. It can also be seen that i have incorporated ramps and ladders into the lower half of my model to give access into all spaces i have developed.

2. This image also displays the majority of the features mentioned above yet includes the surrounding parklands i have developed and is a sectional view cut through the front set of stairs.

3. I have included this image to present a few of the textures i have used at a closer range of viewing as well as presenting a clear image of one of the ramps i have included in the underground interior space of my model.

Inspired Video

My works have been inspired by ships and shipwrecks, the pointed front / top and the squared off edges and back show a clear comparison to my design, ship wrecks also display a visual feeling of abandonment which is one of the words I have chosen to present in my work.

Week 4 Design.

For my Week 4 design i have incorporated both the dense and hollow materials into my design, as well as an additional staircase of different design, see "concept stair designs" below. I have also included the two art works which have inspired my abstractly inspired my sketchup model. I have chosen to place the artworks on opposite sides / levels of my design to simply display which artwork inspired which design.

I have chosen to use the "dense" material texture on the main / core frame of my model, i have done this as generally dense materials such as concrete are used to form the exterior walls or cladding of most structures.

I have also added 50% opacity to my "hollow" texture to display to the viewer that the space behind the material is in fact hollow.

Concept Stair Designs.

After researching and gaining ideas and inspiration from others works, i have become enthused in incorporating both stairs and banister into the one design. As shown above in this concept design i have included the structural support for the stair platforms and the banister into the one design.

I have also been enthused by nature, the natural forms which can be found in rock faces and dirt mounds can be developed and utilised in architecture, and in design in general. Although not the most ergonomic design imaginable, i believe this natural style of stair has a strong visual attractiveness despite its simplicity.
